Fallout is set in a retro-futuristic 1950s overhead world where art, technology and culture are stylised. In the year 2296, 219 years after the global nuclear war of 2077, Lucy, a female resident of Sanctuary 33, sets foot on the devastated surface of Los Angeles for the first time in search of her father, who has been taken by marauders.
When a rare piece of technology comes into existence and is coveted by various forces, Lucy is caught up in the conflict and befriends Maximus, a knight-errant from the Brotherhood of Steel, and Ghoul, a bounty hunter who was a famous film star before the war.
As events unfold, the unknown pasts of many of the characters and an invisible conspiracy gradually emerge.
